Solutions Aids in a New Transition for The National Articulation & Transfer
Network

Feb 21, 2006 Following four years of providing technology
management and development services to the National Articulation and
Transfer Network (NATN), Richard Middaugh, President of NBH Solutions LLC,
was proud to participate in the transition of NATN to the Washington based
Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). The Institute for Higher
Education Policy is a non-profit, non-partisan organization whose mission is
to foster access and success in postsecondary education through public
policy research and other activities that inform and influence the policy
making process. IHEP will now manage the network and seek to broaden the
national impact of NATN by working with policy makers and non-governmental
organizations
Since its inception, NATN
has been dedicated to improving the path to higher education for students of
color. NATN is providing these students with greater college access and more
career exploration, through the dissemination of information about colleges
and universities, and the development of software to facilitate the transfer
and enrollment process. With support from the Fund for the Improvement of
Postsecondary Education, the Ford Foundation and the Lumina Foundation, NATN
has promoted access to historically and predominately Black colleges and
universities, Hispanic serving institutions and the American tribal
institutions.

Solutions has supported the achievement of NATN’s goals by guiding the
functional development of the CollegeStepz website, developing a contact
management database for members, and creating an interactive member website
to promote the sharing of information among the more than 300 institutions
that belong to NATN,” said Richard Middaugh, President of NBH Solutions. NBH
Solutions worked with NATN staff and contractors as well as promoting the
use of technology to support student articulation and transfer. CollegeStepz
was developed as website for students and professional staff to explore
options in their education, including helpful information on individual
colleges and universities. This successful endeavor is among the many
projects that the staff of NBH Solutions has been a participant of,
including the initial functional design of the FACTS website for the state
of Florida as well as the development of a portal facilitating the sharing
of electronic courseware among the public community and state colleges of
Massachusetts.
